65th Annual Gift Giveaway Will Bring Smiles to Kids in Boyle Heights Community
Members of the Board, Funders and Other Friends Join In to Share Holiday Spirit

(Boyle Heights) Every December, children in the Boyle Heights community wait with excitement for the Annual Gift Giveaway held by the Variety Boys and Girls Club (VBGC). In fact, some spend the night waiting with their parents to be some of the first in line to receive an assortment of gifts ranging from snacks and other goodies, school supplies, small and large toys, balls, clothing and other gifts for kids.

That day is just around the corner and members of the VBGC Board will be joined by funders and other community members to hand out nearly 15,000 items to the low income children in the neighborhood.

Approximately 1100 children will receive gifts on Saturday, Dec. 13th with another 500 receiving gifts and holiday cheer at the organization’s satellite office at Pueblo del Sol later in the month. For many of the children this is their only opportunity for their family to receive gifts during the holiday season.

The gifts are generously donated by Diamond Supply Co., individual donors, corporate partners like Far East National Bank, Variety the Children’s Charity of Southern California and other local businesses.
