The Variety Boys & Girls Club (VBGC) carries a proud diverse history, and provides resources to address real life challenges relating to poverty, under-resourced neighborhoods, low educational attainment, gang violence, substance abuse, and poor health outcomes. For over 74 years, the Club has been a refuge for children in Boyle Heights providing unmatched opportunities for growth and success of Club Members. We are extremely proud of that heritage and look forward to continuing to serve future generations of community youth.

The organization’s Scholarship Program was founded in 1972 to provide financial support to Club Members attending college. Over the years, 790 Club Members have been awarded scholarships totaling a financial commitment totaling $3,164,300. In 2023, 16 Club Members received scholarships totaling $59,000.
